    Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine planning elements of urban regeneration for pedestrian-friendly city. The proposals of this study are as follows. First, in order to change the elevated road, which is used by the cars, to a public pedestrian street used by people, this study proposes to create a new layer which could adjust the height difference between elevated walkway and ground so that a new pedestrian network could be constructed. Second, in order to preserve the original industrial network around the Seoul Station and to revitalize this region, this study proposes diverse cultural programs for tourists and the general public as functional planning elements of the new pedestrian layer.
